About COOloop
COOloop is building an alternative to fossil-derived chemicals. We use captured CO₂ and renewable hydrogen to make the chemicals that go into everyday products.
Our catalyst technology has shown promising results. In November we begin independent continuous-process validation testing. That is the moment the technology moves from the lab towards a real industrial process.
The opportunity
We’re looking for a UK-based Technical Co-Founder to take COOloop through its next stage of development.
This is a co-founder role, not a conventional CTO appointment. You’ll help shape the business, own technology development and build the technical organisation we need to scale. You’ll share meaningfully in the company’s success through equity.
What you’ll do
In your first year, you’ll:
- Lead the technical work that turns our catalyst results into a commercially viable, scalable process.
- Take ownership of continuous-process validation and the scale-up roadmap that follows it.
- Build and lead the technical team, setting the culture and the hiring plan.
- Connect technology decisions to customer needs and investment priorities.
- Represent the technology with investors, partners and customers alongside the founding team.
What you’ll bring
We’d love you to have:
- Strong chemical or process engineering expertise.
- Experience taking technology from the laboratory towards industrial application.
- Experience leading technical development and building teams, ideally in an early-stage company.
- Commercial awareness, so you can link what we build to what customers and investors need.
- An entrepreneurial mindset, real ambition and a genuine wish to build a company with significant climate impact.
Experience in catalysis, CO₂ utilisation, hydrogen, reactor design or pilot plants would be a strong plus, but it isn’t essential. If you match most of this and are excited by the mission, please apply.
